Toddler Bedding
It's amazing how quickly your child will outgrow their clothes and shoes during the early years. But it doesn't just stop at that! There will definitely come a time when the crib is no longer suitable, and they will have to have a 'big person's bed'! Of course, generally speaking, toddler beds aren't quite as large as a regular single bed. Often, they will also have side guards, as well as a headboard and footer. Whichever toddler bedding set, or single items, you decide to buy, sizing and fit are very important. They have to do more than look nice! Ill fitting sheets and covers will stop your child enjoying a good nights sleep. And that can affect everyone in the home! Choosing the right fabric is also essential. Is your child's skin sensitive? Do they have allergies?
Cotton organic, and allergen fabrics are popular choices in this case. Polyester cotton is extremely durable and easy to wash. Great for little boys and girls! Plus, no ironing! Satin look fabrics will make your little girl feel like a real Princess! Flannel sheets, wool blankets and feather comforters are cosy and warm. When it's time to move your toddler into a bed, new bedding is a must, and it doesn't have to be expensive. Every style, every colour and every price range is catered for. If you are watching the budget, less themed styles will probably serve you longer, and usually more economical to buy. Children's ideas, their likes and dislikes, can change like the wind at this age. Disney's latest offering doesn't always come at a budget price, and this months favourite superhero might be considered 'super old' in a few months time! It's all fairies one minute and princesses the next! A good idea to bare that in mind.
A basic bedding set for a toddler will usually include a fitted sheet for the base [elasticised all around is the best kind], for the mattress. A flat sheet for over, and a single pillowcase. More elaborate sets might also include a blanket, comforter or duvet cover. Co-ordinated bedding sets can completely change the look of a nursery. Making the right choices will produce fabulous results. Your toddler won't be able to wait to get in it! No more complaining about bed time! Lightweight sheets are flexible, cool for warm nights, or an insulating layer, combined with duvets and blankets in the winter. Comforters are a great way to provide extra warmth without making the bedding too bulky, or heavy. Choosing toddler bedding for first time parents can seem a bit daunting. But it's easy if you just remember the basics! Practical is good, but it is for a toddler after all, so try to make it fun too!
